Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Seed Meal
Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Seed Meal
A plant-derived cosmetic abrasive made from the residual meal left after oil is pressed from sweet almond seeds. It is used primarily as a gentle-to-moderate physical exfoliant, texturizer, and bulking ingredient in scrubs, cleansers, masks, and some cleansing powders. CIR has reaffirmed it as safe for topical cosmetic use under current practices of use and concentration.

Risks & Warnings
Main concerns are mechanical irritation from abrasion, especially on sensitive, inflamed, compromised, or acne-excoriated skin, and possible allergic reaction in people with tree-nut allergy or almond sensitivity. Fine particulate forms may also pose incidental inhalation concerns if used in powders or sprays. Avoid aggressive rubbing and use caution around eyes and broken skin.
