Chrysanthemum Parthenium (Feverfew) Extract
Chrysanthemum Parthenium (Feverfew) Extract
Botanical extract from feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium / Chrysanthemum parthenium) used in cosmetics primarily for soothing and antioxidant support. Its skin benefits are generally attributed to sesquiterpene lactones such as parthenolide; however, parthenolide-depleted extracts are preferred in sensitive-skin products because the intact extract can be a contact sensitizer.

Risks & Warnings
May trigger allergic contact dermatitis, especially in people sensitive to Asteraceae/Compositae plants or ragweed-related allergens. Oral feverfew is associated with bleeding risk and pregnancy concerns; topical data are more limited, so pregnancy use is generally approached cautiously. Patch test if highly reactive skin.
